Banana wafers are deep-fried slices of bananas. Either coconut or sunflower oil is used for frying them. They are salty, crispy and crunchy in taste. In Kerala, they are called ‘Upperi’ and are a must served served item for the Onam Sadya. The wafers are packed such that they do not lose their original taste after opening.
